Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali said, at a news conference held on Sunday afternoon in Riadh, that Tunisia needed, for the next two years, 2 billion dinars a year to boost the development process, stressing that Saudi brothers can contribute to development efforts through donations, deposits and preferential loans.
The Prime Minister, escorted by Tunisian businessmen, met with Saudi businessmen, including President of the Saudi Chambers' Council Abdallah Ben Said Al-Mobti and the Chairman of the Tunisian-Saudi Business
Council.
Both sides discussed means to boost investment in Tunisia and bilateral co-operation and agreed to further look at these issues during the visit next March in Tunis of a Saudi delegation.
The two countries' businessmen exchanged views over the amendments that should be brought to investment laws in Tunisia in order to overcome the obstacles facing Saudi investors.
The PM affirmed that the government will revise the laws impeding the process of economic development in Tunisia and announced that thorough structural reforms will be carried out in several fields and notably in
the banking field. He incited in this context Saudi businessmen to visit Tunisia to enquire about the situation and the opportunities provided in the country.
